Accounts
All students, faculty and staff in the College of Law have a College of Law network account and a University NetID account.
College of Law Network Account
A College of Law network account is required if you use any networked computer owned and maintained by the College of Law. For faculty and staff, this includes the computer(s) in your office or study or any computer in a shared area. For students, this includes any computer in either of the two College of Law computing labs, student computers in student organization offices, student computers in Career Services, and student computers in Law Review.
College of Law Account Name (Students)
Your College of Law account name is the same as your campus Net Id.
College of Law Password (Students)
Your initial College of Law password will be given to you when you enroll. When you log in to your account for the first time, you will be prompted to change the password.
College of Law Account Name (Faculty and Staff)
Your College of Law account name is usually your last name or the first 8 characters of your last name if it is longer than 8 characters.
NOTE: The College of Law account name will be the same as the campus NetID for new faculty and staff hired after August 2007.
College of Law Password (Faculty and Staff)
Your College of Law password will be given to you when you become a faculty or staff member.
Changing Your College of Law Password (Students, Faculty, and Staff)
You may change your College of Law password at any time as follows:
- Log in to your account with the current password.
- Press the CTRL, ALT, and DEL keys simultaneously.
- Click the Change Password button.
- Click to highlight the entry beside the tree icon.
- Type your current College of Law password in the Old Password box.
- Type your new password in the New Password box and the Confirm New Password box. The new password must be at least 6 alphanumeric characters.
- Click the OK button.
- Close the Novell Security window.
University NetID Account
Your University NetID account is required if you use one of the University email systems (Outlook/Exchange or WebMail) or other services provided by the University, such as Computer-Based Training, hardware purchases, or software purchases.
University NetID (Students, Faculty, and Staff)
A NetID is assigned to all students, staff, and faculty by the University. The NetID is an 8-character identifier generally consisting of your first initial, the first 1 to 7 characters of your last name, and a 1- to 3-digit number, if needed, for uniqueness.

An initial NetID password is created by the University and must be changed the first time you log in to any service which requires the NetID. Please refer to NetID for information.
