Carter, DeArmond honored as August Employees
Congratulations to Sally Carter and Patty DeArmond, who were selected as co-recipients of August’s Employee of the Month Award.

Sally has been a member of the Law Library staff since 1979. As Library Supervisor III in the Catalog Department, Sally is responsible for overseeing a variety of technical library assignments involving cataloging of all formats of library’s materials (monographs, serials, electronic resources, and microforms) on OCLC (Online Computer Library Center database); updating and maintaining the library’s online catalog; managing replacement volumes; maintaining the shelf list; overseeing retention and withdrawal of materials; managing compact storage; compiling departmental statistics and monthly reports; resolving problems and issues; supervising part-time employees; and overseeing special projects.

Patty joined the Law Library staff in 1990. As Senior Library Associate in the Catalog Department, Patty is responsible for managing the binding and preservation of the Library's serials and monographs; creating and maintaining records that allow Library patrons to see the arrival and location of recently-bound materials, virtually as soon as they are received; generating information that identifies which volumes the Library has in its collection; serving as the contact person in routing materials to faculty and notifying them when materials in their particular fields of interest are received; supervising student assistants; and providing assistance with special projects.

In particular over the past two years, both Sally and Patty have not only provided outstanding service in their own positions, but on two separate occasions, they have gone above and beyond the scope of their duties to also provide back-up support to Sandy Klavon while she has been on medical leave following knee surgery. Both Sally and Patty are true professionals and outstanding colleagues, and we extend our sincere appreciation to them for their extraordinary dedication and for all they do to make the Law Library and the College of Law a better place. Thank You!
