Beth picked UT for undergrad because of the marching band but fell in love with Knoxville and decided to stick around for longer. After working for 3 years, the learning bug struck and she went back to school. Beth is from a small town, so feeling connected and part of a community is really important to her, and that's why she tries to volunteer and become a part of so many organizations on and off campus. Beth's outside interest include scuba, hammocks, outdoor sports, volunteering, travelling, and Sassy Ann's!

Andy came to UT Law straight from undergrad at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and graduated with a BA in Political Science and double minors in History and African American Studies. Andy is originally from Gastonia, North Carolina (outside of Charlotte) and feels at home in the Appalachian Mountains. He is interested in business and real estate law, but does not intend to complete one of the concentration "tracks". Andy is a member of Phi Alpha Delta, Tennessee Bar Association, and SBA. Mari is an international student from Japan who went to International Christian University ("ICU") in Tokyo, Japan, and majored in Intercultural Communication. While at ICU, she studied at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for a year as an exchange student, fell in love with the South, and decided to return to the area for law school.

John came to UT Law after working for several years in state government. He realized how an attorney can uniquely assist constituents and impact public policy. John believes UT Law provides a great mix of academic challenge and ample opportunities to develop the skills necessary to become a public interest attorney.

A few days after his honeymoon, John and his wife moved to Knoxville and have thoroughly enjoyed their time in the area. He admits there is definitely a balance to find between law school and family. There is a lot of work with law school, but John and his wife still have time to enjoy all East Tennessee has to offer including church, the outdoors, and UT football.

After 4 years in NYC, Mili decided it was time to return to the South. While at NYU, she founded her own competitive dance team, NYU Raas Malai, which went on to win championships in D.C., Boston, Chicago, and Detroit. Her team was also selected for America's Best Dance Crew in Fall 2008. Too bad Mili wasn't going to forfeit the glories of law school to slave away in Hollywood.
