'08 Hooding Information

Inquiries have been made regarding hotel reservations for friends and family attending the Spring '08 Hooding Ceremony Friday, May 9, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Knoxville Convention Center.

Blocks of rooms at the Holiday Inn Select (across from the Convention Center), the Knoxville Hilton and the Crowne Plaza. The information for each is as follows: 

Holiday Inn Select-graduation rate is $149/night.  Telephone (865) 522-2800.  Ask for block of rooms for UT College of Law. 

Knoxville Hilton-rate $99.00/night single or double or $109/night for king.  Telephone (865) 523-2300.  These rates are good for the evenings of 5/8-11/08.  Please identify the group “UT College of Law” when making reservations to receive the special rate.  

Crowne Plaza-rate $139.00/night for standard room (2 dble. beds), $149.00 for room with 1 queen bed and $154.00 for room with 1 king bed.  Telephone (865) 522-2600.  Please ask for the “UT College of Law Spring Commencement block” to receive these rates. 

Rooms are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Once the rooms held in the blocks are reserved, the rates will be at current price. Last year, most downtown hotels were booked by mid-February. 

Please keep in mind that a 3L Party for all graduates and their families is being planned for the evening before Hooding, Thursday, May 8, 2008.  The time and particulars will be announced later.  Family members planning to attend this event may want to plan hotel reservations accordingly.
