Spousal Rape Campaign
Law Student : Jennifer Lichstein
In this project a law student worked with the Tennessee Task Force
Against Domestic Violence and other coalition members to press for
an end to the spousal rape exclusion in Tennessee. She developed
a letter and petition campaign, attended a citizen training workshop
on grassroots lobbying, and visited state legislators at the capitol.
She also worked with two other students to direct, edit and produce
a videotape that presented the case to legislators and other opinion
leaders about why rape of a spouse should be treated as seriously
as rape of anyone else.
