A glimpse at Stephanie Jones’ resume reveals a person who is as passionate about providing legal assistance to those in need as she is dedicated to providing legal services to her clients. Her list of civic and philanthropic activities is almost as long as her professional experiences. Before taking a position as a trial attorney in the Charlotte District Office of the EEOC, Stephanie practiced labor and employment law, business litigation, and domestic litigation for the past seven (7) years with several Atlanta area firms. Stephanie has extensive experience in counseling, negotiation, trial preparation and execution, legal research, contract drafting and client management. After working at different law firms, Stephanie realized that her passion for helping others was not being maximized and instead would be most useful in a government setting. Her work at the EEOC allows her to blend her law firm experience with her passion for public interest law and her lifelong pursuit of wanting to do work that helps others.
“My time in the Legal Clinic really gave me the inspiration to serve people who are unable to afford representation. I enjoy working for the EEOC because we are helping people who have been wronged or discriminated against in the workplace for an unjust and unlawful reason: their race, gender, national origin, religion, or disability status. I enjoy waking up each day and doing my part to better our society for all people. It sounds corny, but it is true. And that aspect of my personality was cultivated by my experience in the Legal Clinic.”
