Audrey Calkins believes in getting involved. During her first year at the College of Law, she initiated the UT Law Ambassadors program through her involvement with Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, volunteered as a Spanish interpreter for the UT Legal Clinic, and helped prepare Know Your Rights briefings for local refugees.

After graduating from Wake Forest University, Audrey received a Fulbright grant to teach English in a public school in Madrid, Spain, where she honed her Spanish skills interacting with students and colleagues and helped them understand the differences between Spanish and American cultures. After a year abroad, she returned to her home state ready for the challenges of law school, with her eyes always open to opportunities to serve.

“Although I chose to come to Tennessee based on its great price, location, convenience, and beautiful building, my favorite thing about Tennessee Law is the people. From studying in small groups for finals to traveling together on spring break, I have made many life-long friends in addition to future professional colleagues. Because UT Law is so small, I have been able to make these friends while making an impact in campus organizations.”
