T. Robert Hill
T. Robert Hill, the founder of the Hill Boren PC law firm is originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Tennessee and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law. He began practicing law in Dyersburg in 1969 and moved to Jackson in 1974. Mr. Hill is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. He completed the National College of Trial Advocacy Advanced Course in 1982 and the National College of Trial Advocacy Ultimate Course in 1997, at Harvard University. He is active in the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association and from 1971 through 1984 served on its Board of Governors. From 1973 to 1977, he held the offices of Secretary and Vice President of the Association and in 1978 was elected President. In 1984, Mr. Hill was elected to Life Membership in TTLA. Mr. Hill has contributed numerous articles to various trial lawyer publications including Ready for the Plaintiff and Trial Magazine. He regularly speaks at seminars on personal injury litigation. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Jackson-Madison County Bar Association. In 1994, Mr. Hill was trial counsel in a case which resulted in one of the largest Tennessee jury verdicts for a single injury ($6,516,000). He was also lead counsel in McIntyre vs. Ballentine, a history-making appellate case that adopted comparative fault in Tennessee. Mr. Hill is certified as a Civil Trial Attorney by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. In 1995, he became one of the first lawyers certified in Tennessee as a Civil Trial Specialist by the Tennessee Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization. His primary cases involve nursing home neglect, product liability (phen-fen and Vioxx) and medical malpractice. Mr. Hill has three children: Robert, Evie and Kathryn and five grandchildren Anna, Joshua, Nicolas, Emma and Carter. Mr. Hill is married to Tamara who is also a lawyer. Robert enjoys fishing, hunting and photography. He is also an avid "Big Orange" football and Lady Vols basketball fan.
