Doctor of Jurisprudence
The degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence will be conferred upon candidates who satisfy the following:
A total of 89 semester hours of credit
- 31 hours of required first-year coursework
- Legal Profession (3)
- Constitutional Law (4)
- Expository Writing
- Planning and Drafting
- Perspective
A cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better
A grade point average of 2.0 in two-thirds of the required first-year courses
A grade point average of 2.0 or better during the semesters in which the last 28 hours are earned
At least 58 hours in residence at the College of Law
Complete degree requirements within five calendar years
Earn no more than 18 hours of credit in any combination of the following courses: 947 Prosecution Externship, 993 Directed Research, 994 Independent Study, 995 Transactions, 996 Law Review, or 997 Moot Court
It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that all graduation requirements are met.
