Services for Graduates from Other Law Schools
Career Services' facilities and resources are available to students and graduates of ABA-accredited law schools that will provide reciprocal services to University of Tennessee College of Law students and graduates. If the policies of the requesting law school are more restrictive than those listed below, The University of Tennessee College of Law policies will be so adjusted.
Reciprocity Policy
1) Reciprocity is limited to third-year students and graduates.
2) Written requests for reciprocal services are required by a career services official from the requesting student's/graduate's law school. (Requests will be accepted via mail, email or fax; see contact information below.) A copy of the reciprocity services of the requesting school should be included, and email and mailing addresses should be provided for the student/graduate, who is requested to await receipt of our written response before contacting the office.
3) Those granted reciprocity may have access to in-office use of selected resource materials and may schedule a one-time counseling appointment with Career Center staff, to which they must bring a resume. Access to job listings will be provided through the Intercollegiate Job Bank.
4) Participation in interviews (either on-campus or at off-campus consortia) is not granted to reciprocity students/graduates.
5) Reciprocity will be granted for six months from the time the student/graduate first uses any resource. With the exception of the employment opportunities newsletter, services will NOT be available from August 15 through November 15.
6) Services may be denied any individual school surpassing a reasonable number of requests within a given year, as well as to any individual who misuses the services or facilities.
