Oversees the Collection Development, Technical Services, and Government Documents Depository functions of the Law Library and participates in the daily administration of the Library, including the development and articulation of policy, process, and procedure. Engages in the formulation and writing of reports, budgets, studies and evaluations, and other documents of accountability regarding the mission and performance of the Law Library. Serves as Acting Director in the absence of the Director.

Supervises the acquisitions and serials processes in the Library and is responsible for the transition of the department's functions to the integrated online system. She also supervises the department in the department head's absence.

Coordinates and supervises all related processes including records management and payment, and works closely with publishers, vendors, and faculty/staff in order to resolve problems arising from the acquisitions process. Also responsible for the management of standing orders and continuing subscriptions and the deposition of gift materials.

(865) 974-6726. Library Supervisor III. Establishes and maintains check-in and payment records for all serial publications purchased by the Library. Routes serials to faculty members, claims materials that have not been received, and creates records that allow other departments to know how to handle serial publications. Also trains and supervises student assistants who sort and open the mail, and who file loose leaf, newsletters, pocket parts, and other materials that keep the library collections current.

Network and Computing Services

(865) 974-2547. Computer, Electronic Services, and Network Manager. Responsible for all the electronic services of the Law Library and the Law School. Plans, manages, provides technical support for, and supervises the day-to-day operation of the College of Law's local area network (LAN), World Wide Web server, and computing infrastructure. Also provides systems analysis, design and programming services for the various departments within the college and combines strategic planning and research to ensure that the computing needs of our faculty, staff, and student customers are met.

Maintains four Novell network servers, the UNIX-based online catalog system, 5 CD-ROM towers containing various software programs, dial-up access for outside modems, and access to the Internet though the campus Ethernet network. Also installs and upgrades over 225 PC's and peripherals and provides software support to faculty, staff, and students of the entire College.
