Ask a Law Librarian

One of our librarians will be happy to help you locate materials in our library and understand legal citations. Librarians cannot interpret laws for you, conduct legal research on your behalf, or tell you whether you have all the legal information you need because that is the work of licensed attorneys. Our law librarians and reference assistants are typically available from 9 AM to 9 PM Monday through Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM on Friday, and on Sunday afternoons. Contact the reference desk at 865-974-3771 or one of our reference librarians, Sibyl Marshall at smarshal@utk.edu, Nathan Preuss at npreuss@utk.edu or Kris Tobin at ktobin3@utk.edu.

Public Computers and Printing

The library has nine computers that may be used for online, Internet-based research. Also available on these computers is access to many subscription research databases that the library purchases, including Westlaw. Printing costs ten cents per page. In order to print, you must have one of our print/copy cards, available from the black vending machine behind the gold record display case near the Circulation Desk. This vending machine takes paper money only – no coins, credit cards, or debit cards.
